Not only is today Stars Wars Day (May the 4th be with you!), it is also the National day of Prayer. On this day, people from all over the nation are gathering together for prayer (see a timeline of the National Day of Prayer here). Wherever you are at today, let’s remember to pray to God for the salvation and grace of God to come to our families, homes, schools, cities, and nation. Let’s pray for our leaders, school teachers, officials, and pastors who need much encouragement these days we are living in today.
The theme for this year is James 5:16b, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (NIV). See here for other ways this James 5:16 verse is translated.
If you are looking for a resource to help guide you in how to pray, see here and here.

Hey LCC, There will be a memorial service for Grandma Carmie Mullen (Deby Hergenrader’s mom) on Monday, March 6th. If you are able, come celebrate the life of an amazing person that has impacted the lives of so many. See below for details.
Lent begins this year on Wednesday February 22, which means it is the first day of the 40 day journey towards Holy Week and Easter. The first day of Lent is traditionally called “Ash Wednesday,” and depending on what one’s tradition is, Lent ends during Holy Week (the week following Palm Sunday). Easter this year is April 9th.
As with most years, many People in our community take part in Lent in very meaningful ways. I want to invite all of us to think about how we could participate in joining the global church community in celebrating Lent this year. Some people take part in a fast, while others use these 40 days as a time of reflection. However you feel you would like to participate in celebrating Lent is up to you. There are a lot of amazing ways people from all over the world take part in this six week period leading up to Good Friday, and it would be amazing to celebrate it with you. Consider joining us in this time of focused devotion to God as we worship Jesus together in these days leading up to the celebration of Easter.

Hey LCC, As 2023 begins, we will be joining with churches from all over the world in 21 days of prayer and fasting. As we are now in a new year, we want to seek the Lord with others for the things God wants to do in our lives, families, communities, work places, churches, cities, and world. As we have done the past few years, we are asking our LCC family to join in a global endeavor to fast and pray with the global body of Christ.
Along with our Foursquare family, many churches in the Central Valley are taking part in a 21-days of prayer and fasting time to seek the Lord both for the year as well as to invite God to intervene in the current situation of our church and world. You can see details about how churches in Fresno, Clovis, and the surrounding areas are participating in this time in the links below.
Whatever prayer and fasting looks like for you and your family, we would love to have you partner with us in prayer as we seek God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength as a community .
Check out some of these links with resources for us to maximize this time of prayer and fasting as a church community:

Rather than meeting at the Davis’ house for our monthly gathering, we are going to be joining with Tim & Kris Lockwood of The Shepherd’s House of Fresno to minister to the needs of the homeless community.
Join us at Einstein Park to serve the homeless community of Fresno. We will be loving on people, helping serve food as needed, cleaning up trash, and engaging in true fellowship with others. We would love to have you join us.
Since we are partnering with The Shepherd’s House of Fresno, there is nothing you need to bring except for yourself.
There will be a gospel message presented!
And, there is a meal provided for you too…so don’t miss out on this.
We’ll be meeting on the neighborhood side of the park, so you’ll want to park your car on the Bond and Garland side. (See a map here as well as the flier below)
